#TBT Review: Emma Jean Reborn by Dr. Cupid Poe and Kathi Macias

In the spirit of #TBT this book review was originally posted 9/22/2006. Reading this book and writing this review was no cakewalk but after I was done, I felt like I had come through a fire--singed but not burnt. I hope the reposting of this review introduces the book to someone who will have a similar experience.

God Bless,

Immediately followed by a picnic for all!

Flashback, or, So Glad We Made It!

The following article was originally written September 29, 2005. This is a revised version.

I was reading a book yesterday as I waited for the bus. The main character, a blonde Georgia peach, had just broken up with her fiancé.

While she was out fundraising, he had been cheating on her with a newly hired co-worker: someone Ms. Georgia Peach considered to be loud, scandalously dressed and improperly made up. Someone who although she hadn’t all the advantages in the world, still spoke her mind and was comfortable with her sexuality. In fact, this woman was someone she had never dared to be.

O … K.

That’s the point where Ms. Georgia Peach got me. That’s the point where we connected. I thought of my best friend in high school, Denise. She didn’t have much in the way of material things, but darn if she didn’t have some smarts, some great dimples and some sex appeal. Whoooooa!

Chapter 1: Celebration of Discipline: Door to Liberation

Just completed a session teaching this class with some awesome students and thought I would share my notes from when I attended the class myself in 2010.

Hello there,
I’ve just started this class in Bible school (for the second time) called Celebration of Discipline.  Sounds all serious and somber, right?  Don’t get scared, I’ll break it down for you:
Merriam defines Discipline as:
1: punishment
2: obsolete : instruction
3: a field of study
4: training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
5a: control gained by enforcing obedience or order b: orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior c: self-control
6: a rule or system of rules governing conduct or activity

To My Fellow Teachers

Why do I do what I do?

Because I just have to!

Despite rough days, I live for the ah-ha! moments like 2 weeks ago when two of my students grabbed their parents and literally dragged them over to me and insisted that I pray for them because they were ill.

One is 3 years old, the other is 6.

When you don't think they're listening or observing you they are.

Don't give up!

Make This Easter Unforgettable—Experience Once Upon a Cross/You Thought of Us-A FREE Easter Musical

Come close and listen to a story that will change your life. A great conflict is about to be decided. This conflict has been gaining momentum since the foundation of the world and nothing can stop this war. Battle lines are being drawn that will determine the fate of the world. On one side stands the Almighty and all of the hosts of Heaven, on the other the enemy and all of the legions of hell. And in the middle — in the very epicenter of the vicious battle — there hangs a lone figure on a wooden structure that is stained with blood. This forsaken and condemned man has the appearance of a beaten and broken beggar. But make no mistake, He is a King. His blood is royal beyond comprehension. He knows what is at stake. He knows what is required, He knows the pain and suffering a full and irrevocable victory will cost. This is the account of events that sound like legend, that stretch the imagination beyond reason. Yet all that you will hear is absolutely and eternally true. Come close and listen to a story that occurred long ago, in a far off land, once upon a cross…
