MY THOUGHTS

Off the Chain is a doggone good book!

Mari the main character and her best friend Cassidy are hilarious apart and together! They are kind of in their own world but with hearts of gold and hormones too. I enjoyed watching as they played off each other from girl talk to work support and more.

Mari’s grandmother was also a character and almost stole the spotlight a time or two. She’s the upright church matron who supports her granddaughter and loves her to bits.

There was great character building. You get to see that Mari is more than a ditsy blonde. She’s someone who is passionate about making a difference for dogs and has pretty good discernment about people.

She is kind but not a pushover and manages to match needy dogs with people who need them. Along the way she deals with vandalism of the clinic where she works, a suspicious best friend of her boss and a cranky business neighbor.

This book leaves you with the following messages:

· Don’t judge a person by appearances

· Don’t give up on your dreams

· It’s okay to ask for help while dreaming

· Trust God to work things out in your favor

It is a great book for dog lovers, and it leaves you with lots of warm fuzzies.

Using the CAWPILE system I rated it 4-1/2 stars

Hi Stormy Vixen, it really is a great read. The pacing was perfect for me, there was no lag where I might say, ik, time to switch books and come back to this.
